Amazing service and even better food!! Chile Verde was unreal! You can tell they put a lot of effort into their food! Will come back time and time again!

Great and very quick service here as usual, but you must try the Molcajete dish this month, with more than enough for two to share. I hope they add this to their regular menu--it's different enough from a fajita, to warrant its own special place on our dinner table next time we stop. You'll find a more in depth explanation on TA.

This in my opinion is the BEST Mexican like diner you can find in the Eau Claire area. At first you'll find out that the queso and chips that they serve you right away is one of a kind. The service is outstanding, very, very friendly people that take pride in doing their job to satisfy you as the customer. The price range is perfect, not to expensive. The amount of food you get is just right and you WILL get full and leave happy. I give Cancun a nice 5/5 stars. If you're in the Eau Claire area you gotta check this place out!

Best Mexican restaurant in town. Great food, prices, employees, and the chips are the best, hands down. The chips are free and come with a type of ranch & Salsa.

Average food but I do love the homemade ranch salsa to accompany the chips. There are definitely better places for Mexican but they do a great job seating a ton of patrons and provide good service. Not a bad choice as it is better than Taquila Azul and El Patio but it doesn't rival Sandoval or Tacos Juanitas.

The service at Cancun is as soon as it gets and the food is even better. I always go with the two chile rellenos on a combination plate. They build the chile relleno using quality poblano peppers filled with cheese, dipped in egg whites and fried to perfection. My spouse loves the Don Burrito, but she has been migrating over to the chile rellenos of late. The Dos Equis Amber is icy cold and the wait staff really takes good care of their customers.

This place definitely does not deserve 5 stars. I've traveled all over this country and at most it deserves a 3. It's got a great atmosphere and service but the food is definitely nothing spectacular. The guacamole tasted like it came out of a plastic bag from the grocery store. Definitely not freshly made. The carnitas tacos originally came out as flour tacos! What?! I'm allergic to wheat. That's why I became a Mexican foodie. Corn baby corn!! Of you're from the land of meat and potatoes youll probably love this place. If u want to spice it up go to tacos Juanita's or better yet Tres Hermanos in Wausau.

The food is delicious and served fairly quick in most of my visits. The staff is always friendly and seem to enjoy interacting with kids, making it a family-friendly atmosphere. When I am hungry for Mexican cuisine, Cancun is the only restaurant in Eau Claire that I consider.

Oh my... the Nachos de Mesa are *amazing*. I have never ordered anything else because I can't get over how good they are. However, if whatever you order doesn't come with a side of refried beans, make sure you order some! UNBELIEVABLY good. I mean, come on; they're just beans. But they make them amazing. Also- the queso blanco sauce is worth the additional cost to eat with your chips. One of my favorite parts? If you call ahead for take out, they're usually ready to pick up in 5-7 minutes. One of my favorite Eau Claire restaurants!

Best Mexican in town is always found at Cancun. The Fajitas and the Don Burritos are amazing, and the cheese dipping sauce is one of a kind. I love Cancun, I'd recommend them every time

OK So I've eaten here a lot of times and have had pretty decent food and service. Today was a bit different. My husband and I came and and were seated right away and the guy took our drink order and I order the cheese sauce right away to go with our chips and salsa. Another guy came over and asked for our drink order and I told him the other guy took it and he said no he don't speak English..ok gave him our order and the drinks came back prompt with the cheese sauce. We looked over the menu decided what we were going to have and I order the carnitas and hubby ordered some seafood wrapped in tortillas with cheese sauce on top. Our food came out really fast almost too fast and when our server dropped the plates this was the last I seen him till we got the bill. He said his food was just ok and I want to tell you we are not very picky eaters or complain at all when we go out to eat. Ive had carnitas at several different places and know what they are suppose to look and taste like. I had a couple slices of pork that tasted like it was boiled in water and re-heated in the microwave. It was stringy and chewy and tasted awful I couldnt even eat it. I just ate my rice and beans and filled up on chips. When the server finally came back he offered us to go boxes for out left overs and I told him that the food was really bad. He did make it right and offered to make something else but found it pointless as I really wasnt hungry anymore. I wanted another margarita and saw that it was busy so we decided to sit at the bar and drink them to free up space for other customers to sit at that table. He gave us our bill and the guy eneded up taking my carnitas off the bill. That made me very happy. I will probably go back here but not anytime soon and wont order them again. I think there are far better mexican resturaunts in Eau Claire to eat at than this one. The margaritas are good and strong as always.

Excellent Mexican - The Chori Pollo (marinated chicken breast with Chorizo & Cheese Sauce) is fantastic! Excellent burritos, enchiladas, chimis - the real deal. Highly recommended.

AWESOME! I Love this place!. The food and service is great, and the restaurant is clean. They are really fast and I have never had a problem. This is Hands Down the BEST Mexican restaurant in the Chippewa Valley.

Best Mexican restaurant in town! Service is always quick and friendly I have yet to find an item on the menu that I don't like. The cheese dip is awesome.

Pretty good Mexican food. Their salsa was actually very good! And the ambience and service was better than we expected. I liked this better than Tacos Juanita, which had a higher rating. Cancun had better salsa and beans for sure.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
